More recent research has advanced our knowledge and some of Dr. Bruchâs ideasâ"such as those that implicate early family dynamics as causing the disorderâ"are now considered outdated. Earlier psychoanalytic explanations of the illness have been replaced as our understanding of the genetic and biological processes have increased. Researchers Keel and Klump (2003) propose that the differing motivations for food refusal across historical time periods may represent culturally meaningful ways to understand a disorder that leaves peopleâ"disproportionately, femalesâ"feeling unable and unwilling to eat. History of Bulimia Nervosa In contrast to anorexia nervosaâ"which appears to have been noted throughout historyâ"bulimia nervosa appears to be a more modern development. Bulimia nervosa was first described as a variant of anorexia in 1979 by British psychiatrist, Gerald Russell. Russell himself believed that bulimia nervosa was a culture-bound condition and did not believe that extrapolating to historical cases of overeating and vomiting were relevant to our modern understanding of the disorder. Nevertheless, purging was a practice in ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and Arabia, cultures in which it was used to prevent diseases believed to come from food. Physicians also prescribed it. Some early Roman emperors were observed to eat to excess and then vomit. Some writers have disagreed with Russell and propose this behavior was an early historical variant of bulimia nervosa, lackingâ"as in the case of the early accounts of anorexia nervosaâ"the modern drive for thinness. Searches for descriptions of bulimia nervosa in the early medical literature have been less fruitful than those for anorexia nervosa. Among the earliest cases that bear a clear resemblance to modern bulimia nervosa is the case of Nadia, described by Pierre Janet in 1903. She displayed dietary restriction, fear of fatness, and episodes of binge eating. Another early description, the case of Patient D, was described by Mosche Wulff in 1932. This patient engaged in periods of fasting alternating with periods of overeating and vomiting. In 1960 US psychiatrists Bliss and Branch published case histories that included a number of cases of bingeing and vomiting. The German psychiatrist Ziolko published papers in the 1970s describing patients who engaged in compulsive food intake and vomiting and experienced increased weight concerns. The 1970s spawned case reports of patients with what more clearly resembles modern-day bulimia nervosa. Gerald Russell published his case series of 30 patients between 1972 and 1978 who reported self-induced vomiting as an attempt to mitigate the effects of episodes of overeating. It was determined that these represented a syndrome that was distinct from anorexia nervosa but shared the same fear of fatness. His famous paper, published in 1979, called bulimia nervosa âan ominous variant of anorexia nervosa.â In 1976, Christopher Fairburn also saw an early case of bulimia nervosa and began studying it and developing a treatment for it. The disorder was barely heard of prior to the latter half of the 20th century; since then, it has become relatively common. History of Binge Eating Disorder Binge eating disorder was even later on the scene. Binge eating disorder was first described in 1959 by psychiatrist Albert Stunkard, who coined the term âNight Eating Syndromeâ. He later specified that binge eating could occur without the nocturnal component of that disorder. Binge eating disorder was first studied in weight loss populations. In 1993 a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy manual for binge eating and bulimia nervosa was published by Fairburn, Marcus, and Wilson. This manual described how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy could effectively treat bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. It went on to become the most studied manual for the treatment of eating disorders Diagnostic History The three major disorders entered the diagnostic and statistical manual in the same order. Anorexia nervosa was accepted as a psychological disorder in the late 1800s after the early reports recounted above. In 1952, it earned a place in the first edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder (DSM-I), the first eating disorder to do so. However, it was officially categorized: â006-580 Psychophysiologic gastrointestinal reactionâ in a broad category that included gastrointestinal disorders such as peptic ulcers, chronic gastritis, and ulcerative colitis. The common factor was that emotional factors were believed to play a causal role. The DSMâs Second Edition (DSM-II) was published in 1968. Anorexia was categorized under Special Symptoms (306). âThis category is for the occasional patient whose psychopathology is manifested by discrete, specific symptoms. An example might be anorexia nervosa under Feeding disturbance as listed below. It does not apply, however, if the symptom is the result of an organic illness or defect or other mental disorder. Bulimiaâ"not yet called bulimia nervosaâ"made its first appearance in this edition. The other eating disorders included in DSM-III were anorexia nervosa, pica, rumination disorder, and atypical eating disorder. With the publication of the DSM-IV in 1994, bulimia nervosa appeared in its current form, with the required feature of shape and weight concerns. Binge eating disorder (BED) was also mentioned for the first time. At this point, BED was still not known as an independent disorder but included in an appendix as a proposed diagnosis for future study. In this edition, Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa were moved out of the disorders of infancy, childhood, or adolescence and became their ownâ"Eating Disordersâ"while the other disorders (pica, rumination disorder, and feeding disorder of infancy or early childhood) remained in the category Feeding and Eating Disorders of Infancy or Early Childhood. Binge eating disorder finally made an appearance as an independent diagnosis in the DSM-5 in 2013. The categories of âEating Disordersâ and âFeeding and Eating Disorders of Infancy or Early Childhoodâ were reunited in the new umbrella category, Feeding and Eating Disorders. The DSM-5 also included avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), for the first time. It replaced Feeding Disorder of Infancy or Early Childhood. We interviewed the HR officers of both banks and some other employees for our HRM assignment and we asked them questions regarding the way they plan Human Resource and their Processes and the way they Recruit new employees for the Bank. Now we are going to apply the information relating to Human Resource planning and Selection and Recruitment Method gain from these two Banks in our HRM assignment. Analyze the need for human resource planning, the information required and the stages involved in this process (P4) Human Resource Planning: Human resource planning refers to as the process of deciding what positions the organization will have to fill and how they are going to fill them (Reference Gary Dessler, page.no.152) Human resource planning is a process conducted by a firm for the future in order to decide how much employees are required by the firm to recruit to cover the post, from warehouse keeper to the CEO. Human resource planning is the most important part of the overall Human Resource strategy. For example a firm wants to enter into a new type of business or market it will have to plan that how much of employees it needs for carrying out those new operations if it wants to achieve success. Process of Human resource Planning: Planning relating to employment is being done on the basis of some basic assumptions. Forecasting techniques like HRP enables a company to generate these assumptions. If a company wants to plan for their employment needs, they basically need to consider three things: Personnel needs (demand) Supply from inside (Current employees) Supply from out side. After doing the analysis of demand and supply then the stage of removing the gape between supply and demand comes Forecasting of personnel needs (Demand): Organizations keep the some factors in mind while forecasting demand. Factors like the objectives of the organization, employees utilization (how much of labor will an organization require for their production or services objectives), the cost of labor, and environmental factor like technology and social norms are important for demand forecasting. There are simple techniques like ratio analysis and time series analysis through which forecasting of demand can be done. Forecasting of Supply: One important question in this regard is should an organization plan to fill the forecasted positions with employees already working in the organization or by hiring people from outside the organization. There are also some important factors, which a firm must consider while conducting the process of forecasting supply. If a firm is planning to fill the position from within so it must consider factors like employees skills, performance standard, potential trainability, educational base etc. On the other hand, if a firm is planning to recruit people from outside so it should consider factor like skill availability, education and training level of the potential people, competitors activities and paying rate in the markets. According to HR officer of Faysal Bank, Human Resource Planning is very important for their Human Resource department. By conducting the analysis they come to know how many employees they have currently and how much they require in the future in order to gain their Human Resource objectives. They analyze Human Resource with the help of time series which mean they give targets to their employees and if they are unable to get those targets in given time with the available staff (Demand) they then analyze the performance of each employee by using their human resource information system (HRIS) that contains the data of the all the employees they foresee the potential trainability, productivity improvement of their current employees. The policy manual of Alfalah is also not properly communicated to the lower employees and no one in the lower employees knows that what the overall policies of bank are. When we asked about the policies from the lower employees some of the employees were not clear about the HR policies as they had neither been not communicated, nor seen the policy manual. We asked the HR coordinator about the policy manual, she refused to give it to us saying that its highly confidential. Yet verbally she gave us some idea that what are the steps in recruitment. We provide equal opportunities to all the employees meeting with our criteria. No gender or racial discrimination is involved. We train our employees after recruitment according to their job and assign them a job or duty. At start we hire our employees on contract basis of one year but if he/she performs well then he/she can be made permanent. Employees view: As we have interviewed some of the employees according to their point of view recruitment policies are very much transparent and fair. As those employees have spent more than three years in bank Alfalah and were satisfied from their manager and from the bank environment. According to them they have submitted their CVs in bank AlFalah and after some time they were called for a written test and than after qualifying the test they were called for interview. Then they were selected and sent for four months training to Lahore where they have their own training academy for fresh employees to train them for such specific job for which they were recruited. Personal analysis: Bank AlFalah is considering well in banking sectors because of their transparent policy which includes recruitment, selection etc. We personally fell well about their policy because the employees which are part of the organization are personally satisfied from their recruitment process. They clearly show the qualities of the personnel, which they required. Because of their good behaviors to the applicants they create a good corporate image on the mind of the applicant. The peoples who are still part of the organization are in favor of their recruitment policy, which helps in creating a good image of the organization of the peoples out side the organization. Our Personal analysis: In our view Faysal bank has got a very professional approach to the recruitment policy for their bank because their policy of giving the opportunity to the old employees to be upgraded to the new post. Similarly the phenomenon of hiring a recruiting agency is very feasible for the bank and as well as for the new recruit. Andrew Laeddis) Actorââ¬â¢s name: Leonardo DiCaprio Andrew Laeddisââ¬â¢ wife went insane and drowned their children, so he murdered her.He feels guilty about neglecting to get his wife help, which could have saved their children, and guilty about killing her as well; the two of these add up heavily on his conscience, so much so that he creates an alternate personality (Teddy Daniels) to get away from the terrible reality that is his life. I will refer to him as Teddy throughout my character diagnosis. Scene one: Teddy experiences a nightmare about his wife. The fire symbolizes not only how she first tried to commit suicide, but also the death of his sanity.The nightmare begins with his wife scolding him about his drinking problem, which is a repressed regret that only comes out in his dreams where he is vulnerable. She says s he never left, and she walks to the window where you can see the lake; the one where she drowned her children and was murdered (by Teddy) at. She tells him he needs to wake up, but she really means he needs to see reality, she says sheââ¬â¢s not really there, and that he needs to face that. She says ââ¬Å"Laeddisâ⬠is still there, which is who he was before he invented the Teddy persona to avoid feeling the guilt, since he would inevitably blame himself for their deaths.Scene two: Teddy has a flashback about his traumatic experience in Germany during World War II. He has post-traumatic stress disorder from his time spent there and his repressed memories span from killing guards to seeing thousands of innocent people turn to frozen corpses. He has guilt, shame and self-hatred induced psychosis from his involvement in the war. He sees his nurse (he replaces the image of his wife with the image of his nurse because itââ¬â¢s easier to handle) and his deceased daughter, she i s a symbol of his guilt for neglecting his wifeââ¬â¢s mental problems.If he had have done something about his wife, his children would not have died. Scene three: Again Teddy replaces his wife with his nurse to avoid further pain and she asks him to help her. He picks up his daughter and she once again is a symbol of guilt as she asks him why he didnââ¬â¢t save her. He said it was too late by the time he got there, meaning physically to the scene where his children were murdered as well as meaning that he was too late in getting help for his wife who was visibly losing touch with reality.Scene four: Teddy talks to his old friend, who he remembers, but he does not understand still that he was a patient at Shutter Island along with his friend. He does not remember beating up his friend, even when his friend says he looks so bad because of him. Teddy stays stuck in his other personality, which is a common trait of borderline personality disorder. When he is in one identity, he sh ows a complete amnesia for his other identity. He created a fictional life for himself, with fictional characters to go along with the story.He tells himself his wife died in a fire, when he really murdered her. He blames ââ¬Å"Andrew Laeddisâ⬠(who is himself) for being the one who lit the match that killed his wife, which is a metaphor for him being at fault for her death, and the childrenââ¬â¢s deaths. He is in a constant search for Andrew Laeddis, saying heââ¬â¢s the secret patient at Shutter Island, and his imagined wife tells him to kill Andrew. He wants so badly to get rid of his past self, because he would rather live without feeling the guilt.His friend says he canââ¬â¢t deal with the truth and kill his old self at the same time, he makes the point that heââ¬â¢s fighting against himself. When his friend mentions his deceased wife, and repeats saying ââ¬Å"let her goâ⬠, Teddy hallucinates that she is present in the room. His friend knows heââ¬â¢s s eeing her, and is clearly distressed, he knows his delusions will be the death of him. He snaps out of his alternate personality for a moment and says that he canââ¬â¢t let her go. Knowing that Teddy was and still is technically a patient of Shutter Island, he warns that Teddy will never leave the island.

After the date of getting the permission from the competent authority, when Deokabai would get another suitable house then she would get the sale deed of this house registered in Uttamââ¬â¢s name. 3. The entire cost of registration of the sale deed of the house shall be borne by Uttam. In case there is any complication or difficulty in getting the sale deed of the house registered in Uttamââ¬â¢s name or in case it becomes legally impossible for Deokabai to get the sale deed of the house registered in Uttamââ¬â¢s name, then Deokabai shall pay back to Uttam the amount of Rs. 5,000/- with interest thereon. Deokabai shall not put forth any excuse for the same. Legal Issues: So far as the present agreement for sale was concerned, she took the step of applying for necessary permission to the Competent Authority, Nagpur on March 3, 1979. The requisite permission for selling the house was granted to her in the month of May, 1979. On 9.7.79, a notice was sent by the respondent to the appellant requiring her to get the sale deed executed and registeredââ¬â¢ in his favour on 9.7.1979 and to remain present in the office of Registrar at 11 a.m. Since the appellant failed to turn up at the appointed time and place and the respondent allegedly had taken all steps necessary towards completion of the sale deed, like purchase of stamp papers and buying of drafts of money, he filed a suit for specific performance on July 26, 1979. The respondent firstly prayed for a decree for specific performance and possession of the property in dispute, but in the alternative claimed return of the earnest money of Rs. 5,000/with interest in case specific performance was not all owed. Law Applicable: Section 32 provides that contingent contracts to do or not to do anything if an uncertain future event happens cannot be enforced by law unless and until the event has happened. No. 7513 (W) Of 2011 Smt. â⬠¦ vs The State Of West Bengal & Ors on 18 May, 2011 Conclusion: The respondent, in the situation, could not straightway ask the appellant to specifically perform the contract unless he initially had put the appellant to notice, to seek and get another suitable accommodation within a reasonable time within which it could reasonably be available in the town of Nagpur. Such a notice obviously could be given only after the grant of permission to sell by the Competent Authority, Nagpur, because in the event of non-grant of permission the search for another suitable accommodation would have become unnecessary. Thus we are of the view that in the facts and circumstances, the two important contingencies are the appellant getting a suitable accommodation before she could be asked to specifically perform the contract of sale and, in case of a genuine difficulty arising, to opt for returning the earnest money with interest. She cannot, in the present set of facts, be obliged to part with her property by effecting a sale. Resultantly, the appeal to grant refund of Rs. 5,000/- with interest at the rate of 8% calculated from 18.1.79 till payment or recovery is allowed.
